Congratulations to Yang Hyun-jong + Kim Do-young for reaching 20 wins

![](https://files.readme.io/62f05e5-image.png) There are so many athletes to congratulate. It's a joyous occasion. The Kia Tigers won 13-2 against the Kiwoom Heroes in the 2024 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on May 25. The starting lineup was Park Chan-ho (shortstop), Lee Chang-jin (right fielder), Kim Do-young (third baseman), Choi Hyung-woo (designated hitter), Lee Woo-seong (first baseman), Socrates Brito (left fielder), Kim Sun-bin (second baseman), Kim Tae-gun (catcher), and Choi Won-joon (center fielder). The starting pitcher is Yang Hyun-jong. The players came together to reach 20 wins in the fewest games in franchise history. The club has 20 wins (7 losses) after 27 games of the season. The previous club records were 20 wins in 28 games in 1993 and 2017 (8 losses each). Kia was the first of 10 clubs to reach the 20-win mark and retained the top spot. The sweep of Kiwoom was also the first in 1113 days since April 6-8, 2021, against Gochuk. Starter Yang Hyun-jong allowed two runs on four hits (one homer) and one walk in seven innings, striking out six and walking two, with 94 pitches. He improved to 2-1 on the season and 170-114 in his career. He was second on the KBO's all-time wins list with 169 career victories before the game, and with the win, he reached the 170-win plateau. He is second on the all-time wins list behind Song Jin-woo (210 wins, 153 losses). After Yang Hyun-jong, Kim Gun-guk closed out the game with two scoreless innings of relief. Do-Young Kim also made history. He became the first player in the league to hit 10 home runs and 10 stolen bases in a single month. The previous closest was Son As-seob (then Lotte Giants, now NC Dinos) with nine home runs and 10 stolen bases in August 2017. In addition, Kim accumulated double-digit home runs in a season for the first time since his debut in 2022. His previous high for a season was seven last year. Looking at the Tigers' franchise record for monthly home runs, Do-Young Kim is the only player to hit 10 in a month, followed by Bong-Yeon Kim in May 1983, Sanders in May 1999, Hong Hyun-woo in June 1999, Kim Sang-hyun in August 2010, and Choi Hyung-woo in October 2020. Only Kim Sang-hyun hit 15 home runs in a month in August 2010. Kim also has a 12-game hitting streak that began on Dec. 12 against the Daejeon Hanwha Eagles. This is the fourth-longest streak in league history and ties the club record. The previous club record was held by Kim Sun-bin. He scored in 12 consecutive games from September 11 to 25, 2018. Kim also extended his hitting streak to 15 games, starting on September 9 against the Gwangju LG Twins. He is 2-for-5 with two doubles (one home run), two RBIs and two runs scored against Kiwoom. The Kia bats pounded out 16 hits (2 home runs) to easily defeat Kiwoom. After the game, Kia head coach Lee Bum-ho said, "We were fortunate to win back-to-back games thanks to the strong pitching of Yang Hyun-jong and the cohesiveness of our bats." "Yang Hyun-jong pitched effectively and went seven innings, a personal best this season. "Our bullpen was used up in the first two games, and I think it will help us in the weekend series," said Lee. Congratulations to Hyun-Jong Yang on becoming the second player in history to reach 170 career wins." "In terms of the offense, I would like to commend our bats for their focus after the top of the fourth inning, when Lee Woo-sung was hit by a pitch and Kim Tae-gun stepped up to the plate and delivered the game-winning two RBIs," he said. "In the ensuing at-bats, Park Chan-ho's RBI single really set the tone. It was also nice to see the big innings in the fourth and eighth innings," he smiled. Kia loaded the bases with no outs in the top of the fourth inning on a walk to Lee Woo-sung, a single to right by Socrates, and a straight bunt single by Kim Sun-bin. Kim Tae-gun followed with a double to center field. After Choi Won-jun walked, the Kiwoom bench was moved. Pitcher Kim Sun-ki was brought in to pitch. Park Chan-ho followed with an infield single to shortstop. Shortstop Kim Hwijip made a good catch, but the throw to first base was high, leading to an infield single. Lee Chang-jin's grounder to second base ended the top of the fourth inning. Kia took a 3-0 lead. "I also congratulate Kim Do-young on becoming the first KBO player to hit 10 home runs and 10 stolen bases in a single month," Lee said. He added, "We were able to reach 20 wins thanks to the fans' support. We are grateful for their support and will continue to do our best." <https://www.majortotosite.top>

'Biggest ever' UFC 300 to take place Thursday

UFC 300 is the biggest mied martial arts event in history, featuring 12 former and current UFC champions. The event will feature three title fights and thrilling showdowns between fan-favorite fighters. UFC 300: Pereira vs. Hill will take place on April 14 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. The milestone 300th numbered event celebrates 30 years of UFC history, which began with UFC 1 in November 1993. The event will be highlighted by triple title fights. Three titles will be up for grabs: light heavyweight (93 kilograms), women's strawweight (52.2 kilograms) and BMF (big man). In the main event, UFC light heavyweight (93 kg) champion Alex Pereira (Brazil, 36) takes on former champion and current No. 1 ranked Jamahal Hill (USA, 32). Pereira is one of the greatest athletes in the history of combat sports, being the first to conquer two weight classes in kickboxing and then mixed martial arts (MMA). His opponent, Hill, is a former champion who had to vacate his title due to a ruptured Achilles tendon. This fight is a revenge match, which makes it even more exciting. Hill defeated Pereira's MMA mentor Glover Teixeira (44, Brazil) last January to become champion. "I'm a realistic person, so I know I can lose," Pereira said. But I'm here to win," he said. "Whoever wins this fight is the real champion," said Hill, a former champion who has never lost a belt. The co-main event will feature the UFC's first ever Chinese vs. Chinese title fight. Reigning women's strawweight (52.2 kilograms) champion Zhang Weili (34, China) will take on No. 1 ranked Yan Xiaonan (34, China). Both 34 years old, both are strikers based on the Chinese martial art Wushu Santa, and are expected to deliver a fiery fight. The third bout on the main card will be a BMF title fight to determine the toughest man on the planet. BMF champion "Highlight" Justin Gaethje (USA), 35, will make his first defense at lightweight (70.3kg) against UFC featherweight (65.8kg) champion Max Holloway (USA), 32, in a matchup of two of the hottest men on the planet. To date, Gaethje has earned 12 fight night bonuses and Holloway 11. There is no survival plan for the big men. "I don't usually plan to be alive the day after a fight," says Keiichi, adding that he's going all in. Holloway, the final opponent of "Korean Zombie" Chung Chan Sung (37), threw down the gauntlet: "Real men fight to the death. The ultra-luxury bracket continues. Former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira (34, Brazil) and No. 4-ranked Arman Sarukyan (27, Armenia/Russia) will clash for the right to challenge champion Islam Makachev (32, Russia). In her UFC debut, two-time Olympic judo legend Kayla Harrison (33USA) will take on one of the greatest legends in women's combat sports, Holly Holm (42USA), a three-time champion in boxing and the UFC women's bantamweight division (61.2 kg). Former UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt (32 USA) and former UFC flyweight (56.7 kg) champion Davison Figueiredo (36 Brazil) will open the event in the opening bout. In addition, history-maker Jim Miller (40 USA), who has competed at UFC 100, UFC 200 and UFC 300, will meet No. 14-ranked Bobby Green (37 USA) in the lightweight division. Both fighters are veterans of veterans, with 103 fights combined. 'No conflict' Park Ji-won wins 1500m at national team trials, beats Hwang Dae-heon

Park Ji-won (Seoul Metropolitan Government) rises to the top. Park Ji-won took first place in the men's 1500-meter final at the 2024-2025 Short Track National Team Trials at the Mokdong Ice Rink in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, on Wednesday with a time of 2 minutes, 15.759 seconds. It was the second time Park Ji-won had faced Hwang Dae-heon, who had previously clashed at the International Ice Skating Union (ISU) World Cup and World Championships in the 2023-2024 season, with Park missing out on automatic qualification to the national team due to a foul by Hwang. They clashed again in the 500-meter semifinals of the first selection round, and Park finished the first round with a first-place finish in the 1000 meters on the final day. On the first day of the second selection, Park Ji-won and Hwang Dae-heon were placed in the same heat in the 1500m semifinals. However, the race ended without any major collisions, with Park taking first place and Hwang finishing third. Hwang advanced to the final as the best of the top three in their respective groups, setting up a showdown between Park and Hwang once again. Park Ji-won started the race in the back of the pack and exploded into the lead after the midway point. He then picked up the pace and fought off the chase from the rest of the field, and finished the race in first place, although Jang Jang-woo (Korea University) and Kim Gun-woo (Sportsoto) caught up with him in the final corner. Hwang Dae-heon (Korea University) was at the front of the field early in the race, but was unable to find the speed in the second half and finished fifth out of seven. Park Ji-won added 34 points to her first-place finish, adding to the 55 points she earned in the first round of the competition, to finish first overall with 89 points. It was a strong showing for Park, who needs to finish in the top three overall to qualify for the individual competition next season.

Min Min-kyu's after-work routine: "I often watch Shorts and Lilith"

Earlier this month, for the first time in 18 years since Kim Yeon-ah, a South Korean male athlete won gold at the Junior World Championships. Fifteen-year-old Min Min-kyu is just a month into his senior year of high school. His gold medal was as notable as his upbringing. Born and raised in Daegu, South Korea, Min Gyu first laced up his skates at the age of four thanks to his mother, who has taught figure for over 20 years in Daegu, and his father. His father had a life completely unrelated to figure, and four years ago, he built a small in-ground training center in an apartment building in Daegu so that his son could train. The father's passion doesn't stop there: He's even taught himself how to train in a "harness," which is essential for figure athletes to practice jumps indoors, so he can sweat it out with his son. With the exception of training for the national team, Min-kyu has been training exclusively in Daegu. If he makes the national team, his father is responsible for the eight-hour round-trip drive. "It's very special to have a private training session in a foreign country or outside of Seoul," he told us. "It's very special to have a private training session in a foreign country or outside of Seoul," said figure officials. This season, the next generation of figure hopefuls is sweating it out in his hometown of Daegu with higher dreams. On the 15th of last month, we went to the ground training center built by his father.

Handball H-League leaders Doosan take 30-point lead with win over Chungnam Province

![](https://files.readme.io/3a67b50-image.png) Doosan defeats Chungnam-do to reach the 30-point plateau. Doosan defeated Chungnam-do 28-24 in the fifth game of the fourth round of the Shinhan SOL Pay 23-24 Handball H League Men's Division at SK Hawks Arena in Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk-do, South Korea on Wednesday. With the victory, Doosan moved to 14 wins, two draws and four losses, with 30 points, to remain in first place. Chungnam-do, which lost its second straight game, is now in sixth place with three wins, 17 losses and six points. The first half was tense. Doosan's defense came out in front and blocked a mid-range shot from Chungnam, but allowed a pivot play. Chungnam Chungcheongnam-do kept Doosan at bay with a solid defense, but conceded a goal when they allowed a breakthrough. On offense, the gap widened midway through the match as Kim Dong-wook was stopped by the goalkeeper. After Chungnam got to 6-5, Kang Jeon-gu scored back-to-back goals to extend Doosan's lead to 11-7. After Doosan's Ha Moo-kyung was sent to the bench for two minutes, Chungnam Provincial Government was unable to catch up as their shooting percentage dropped despite their numerical advantage, and they fell behind by three or four points. Doosan ended the first half with a 14-11 lead. The lead grew to 20-14 in the second half after a Chungnam government miscue. The goal scoring slowed down as both teams' goalkeepers made saves. The score remained within four or five points as Chungnam provincial government failed to close the gap easily. In the middle of the third quarter, Doosan increased its lead to 25-18 as Chungnam Provincial Government made a mistake. Doosan did not allow Chungnam Chungnam-do to close the gap to 27-23 when Kang Jeon-goo was red-carded for hitting the goalkeeper in the face, but Doosan did not allow the lead to grow any further. In the end, Doosan won the match 28-24. Doosan's offense was led by Kang Jeon-gu with six goals and Chung Jung-kyung with five, while goalkeeper Kim Dong-wook made 12 saves. Chung became the second player in history to reach 800 goals. Koo Chang-eun, Kim Min-kyu, Nam Dong-wook, and Park Sung-sung scored five goals apiece for Chungnam, while goalkeepers Kim Soo-hwan, Nam Sung-cheol, and Choi Eun-beom combined for 10 saves. Goalkeeper Kim Dong-wook was named the MVP after making saves at crucial moments to secure the win for Dusan. "It feels good to win this game after losing the last one," Kim said of the victory, and when asked about his goals for the final five rounds, he said, "I hope to win all the games and go to the championship finals as the top team, but to do that, we need to stay injury-free and have some luck." <https://www.totosafeguide.com>
