Eight fuzzy ants...Brion-Guangdong 2R match postponed
An unexplained network technical issue caused something unprecedented in LCK history. After 12 years without a single postponement, the league's schedule was postponed for the first time in its 12-year history.
Riot Games announced today that due to eight consecutive fuzzes that occurred during the DRX-DPLUS Kia (DK) match in the second round of the Spring 2024 LOL Champions Korea (LCK) held at the LCK Arena at Roll Park in Jongno, Seoul, the league will refund not only the match, but also the subsequent match, Brion-Kwangdong, as well.
After the previous match, DRX-DK, took 6 hours and 46 minutes due to unstable network conditions, the match between Brion and Guangdong was also postponed due to the unreliability of the network.
There were a whopping eight fuzzes in one game alone. The first one came at 8:58 of the first set when Choi "Lucid" Yong-hyuk raised a ping issue. After 10 minutes, the first set resumed with a second fuzz at 16:33 of the first game. This time, it wasn't a specific player, but the entire DRX squad.
The second fuzz period lasted about 15 minutes, after which the first set resumed, but the match was interrupted for the third time at 20:16 when D.R.I.A.X. raised another ping issue. Due to the fuzz, the Brion-Guangdong match, which was scheduled to be the 50th match, was eventually postponed.
